Man in His 50s Stabbed to Death in Scarborough; 2 Arrested

URGENT UPDATE: A man in his 50s has been fatally stabbed in Scarborough, with two suspects arrested at the scene. The incident unfolded on Thursday afternoon, with emergency crews responding to a call at 4:15 p.m. near Eglinton Avenue East and Danforth Road.

Authorities initially arrived to investigate an “unknown trouble” but found no immediate evidence or complainant. However, as the investigation progressed, they traced the incident to a nearby apartment at Eglinton Avenue East and Falmouth Avenue. Inside the unit, officers discovered a man suffering from serious injuries.

According to Inspector Scott Bradbury, paramedics were on-site due to the original call and quickly began life-saving measures. Despite their efforts, the individual was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The victim’s identity has not been released as officials await notification of next-of-kin.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbing remain unclear. It is currently unknown whether the victim was acquainted with the suspects. Inspector Bradbury stated, “Officers are currently on scene speaking with witnesses to try and get a better understanding of what had happened this evening.”

Police have assured the community of their commitment to safety, announcing an increased presence in the area for the next several hours. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any information related to the incident.
