URGENT UPDATE: Manitoba Hydro is actively working to restore power to approximately 4,500 customers following severe weather-related outages across the province. As of Monday night, affected areas include northern, eastern, and western Manitoba, where wind, rain, and heavy snow have caused significant damage and downed power lines.

This situation follows a chaotic Thanksgiving long weekend when more than 12,000 customers initially lost power due to the storm. While Manitoba Hydro has successfully restored electricity to several thousand customers, many remain in the dark as crews continue repairs.

Manitoba Hydro officials have announced they will provide updated restoration timelines on Tuesday as teams assess the extent of the damage. Residents are urged to stay alert and report any downed power lines immediately. Anyone who encounters such hazards should maintain a safe distance of at least 10 metres and contact emergency services at 911.

Customers without power can report outages either online or by calling 1-888-624-9376. The ongoing efforts to restore power are critical as temperatures drop, impacting the well-being of those affected.

Stay tuned for further updates as Manitoba Hydro works diligently to resolve these outages and bring relief to the community.
