BREAKING NEWS: In an exhilarating start to the boys’ golf season, Dixon’s Max Kitzman has claimed medalist honors with a stunning score of 35 at a triangular match held at Park Hills on October 3, 2023. Kitzman’s outstanding performance propelled Dixon to a close second place finish with a total of 169, just behind Rochelle, who led with a score of 164.

The competitive match saw Brody Nicklaus from Dixon also performing admirably, finishing third with a score of 40. As the season kicks off, the energy around local golf is palpable, making this an essential moment for Dixon’s team and their supporters.

Meanwhile, at Prairie View, Forreston secured a win over Byron with a score of 161. Kaden Brown of Forreston captured the medalist title with a remarkable score of 36, while Darin Greenfield followed closely as the runner-up with a score of 39.

In another triangular match, River Ridge/Scales Mound emerged victorious with 178, thanks to a medalist score of 36 from Sam Rife. Stockton finished second with 184, while West Carroll trailed with a score of 232, led by Max Knuth, who shot a 45.

Switching to girls’ golf, Sterling’s Emily Schwingle showcased her talents as she earned medalist honors with a score of 45 in a dual match against Sycamore, who scored 221. Her teammate, Toni Martinez, also made waves with a runner-up score of 46, contributing to Sterling’s strong performance.
