Mont St. Joseph Hosts Grandparents Day Festivities on Sept. 14

URGENT UPDATE: Mont St. Joseph Home is gearing up for its highly anticipated annual Grandparents Day event, taking place on September 14, 2024, starting at 2:30 PM at Prime Minister’s Park. This beloved community gathering promises an exciting day filled with live entertainment, fun activities for children, and a family barbecue, inviting everyone to celebrate the significance of grandparents in our lives.
Jessica Gale, Foundation Development Director, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, “Grandparents Day is a nationally celebrated holiday, and it’s one of our favorite traditions here at Mont St. Joseph Home.” Gale emphasized the importance of bringing families together, ensuring that grandparents feel appreciated and connected to their community.
The highlight of the day will be the fourth annual ball drop raffle, which has already sold out its 3,000 tickets—a first for the event. Participants will have their ticket numbers correspond to golf balls that will be dropped from a fire department ladder truck, a thrilling spectacle as the first three balls to land in the hole will win cash prizes.
“The community has really rallied behind the ball drop raffle this year,” Gale noted. “It has become a staple event, and residents are already inquiring about next year’s raffle.” This growing enthusiasm underscores the event’s significance in fostering a sense of belonging and support within the community.
Families can also look forward to face painting, games for kids, and the opportunity to enjoy a delicious barbecue—all free of charge. Gale remarked, “We want our residents to feel loved and valued. They can stay in the home, enjoy the festivities, and not worry about hosting.”
All funds raised during this year’s event will support major renovations aimed at enhancing the dining experience for residents at Mont St. Joseph Home. Gale highlighted the importance of community support in making these transformations possible.
As the event approaches, excitement is palpable among residents and families alike. This is not just a celebration but a chance to strengthen community bonds and honor the invaluable role of grandparents.
Mark your calendars for September 14! Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to create lasting memories and join the celebration at Mont St. Joseph Home.
