Moose Jaw Police Urgently Seek Red Truck in Hit and Run Case
UPDATE: Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in locating a red pickup truck linked to a serious hit and run that occurred on August 2, 2023. The incident took place around 12:00 p.m. at the intersection of 1st Avenue Northeast and Oxford Street East, where a pedestrian was struck and left seriously injured.
Authorities report that the suspect fled the scene heading east on Oxford Street in what is described as a “tomato red, four-door truck.” The victim was quickly transported to the hospital by paramedics and is currently receiving medical treatment for serious injuries.
In a critical update issued today, MJPS is urging local residents to review their CCTV footage from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the day of the incident. Investigators believe a witness traveling in a black car or SUV may have crucial information regarding the crash.
The police service has not yet determined the specific make and model of the suspect vehicle. They emphasize the importance of community support in solving this case and are encouraging anyone with leads to contact MJPS directly or submit an anonymous tip through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
This developing situation highlights the urgent need for public vigilance in Moose Jaw. Local residents are reminded that even the smallest detail could be instrumental in bringing the suspect to justice.
As the investigation unfolds, the Moose Jaw community is called upon to remain alert and report any suspicious activity or potential sightings of the red truck. The police are actively working to ensure the safety of all residents and bring closure to the victim’s family.
