BREAKING: Nominations are officially open for the 2026 Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards, set to honor those who champion inclusivity and diversity across the region. This is your chance to recognize organizations and leaders who are making a significant impact in Abbotsford, Mission, Langley, Chilliwack, and Hope.

The awards, now in their 23rd year, celebrate the courage and creativity of individuals and groups dedicated to fostering equity in their communities. “This event is a wonderful reminder of the strength that comes from embracing diversity,” stated Manpreet Grewal, executive director of program and services at Archway Community Services. “Each year, we are inspired by those who contribute to fostering equity and inclusivity across the Fraser Valley.”

This year’s nomination categories include: innovative initiative, inclusive environment, intercultural arts, culture and events, and Champion of Diversity (youth and adult). The awards ceremony will take place on March 4, 2026, at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Centre, where recipients will be announced.

Previous awardees have included local businesses, schools, and programs that actively promote inclusion and create accessible spaces for their clients and customers. “This gathering is an annual reminder of how our diversity brings us together,” said Abbotsford Mayor Ross Siemens in last year’s welcome speech. “By celebrating what makes us unique, we are reminded of all that we have in common.”

Individuals can be recognized through either the Champion of Diversity Award or the Youth Champion of Diversity Award. Nominations are encouraged from community members who wish to celebrate those making a difference.
