URGENT UPDATE: Planned maintenance by Northwestel will disrupt home phone services in Whitehorse on October 2, potentially impacting the ability to call 911. The maintenance window is scheduled from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m., with service outages expected to last up to 20 minutes.

Residents are advised to take this disruption seriously, as emergency assistance via 911 may be unavailable during this time. In the event of an emergency, the Yukon government recommends visiting the Whitehorse General Hospital, the RCMP detachment on Fourth Avenue, or one of the Whitehorse Fire Halls located at 105 Black Street downtown or 305 Range Road at the top of Two Mile Hill.
