Ontario Lawyer ‘Cocaine Lawyer’ Faces Urgent License Suspension
BREAKING: A lawyer dubbed the “cocaine lawyer” is facing potential suspension of his legal license in Ontario due to serious criminal allegations from U.S. authorities. Deepak Paradkar, 62, has been accused of advising Ryan Wedding, a former Canadian Olympian and alleged drug kingpin, on a plot involving murder and drug trafficking.
New reports confirm that Paradkar’s actions are under scrutiny after Wedding, 44, was added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list earlier this year. Wedding, who represented Canada in snowboarding at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games, is now allegedly at the center of a vast cocaine operation.
The Law Society of Ontario is moving swiftly, filing a motion to suspend Paradkar’s license. The organization stated that the charges against him include conspiracy to murder a witness and conspiracy to distribute cocaine, emphasizing that “there are reasonable grounds for believing that there is a significant risk of harm to members of the public.”
Paradkar is accused of advising Wedding to eliminate a key witness, who was tragically shot five times at a restaurant in Medellín, Colombia, on January 31, 2024. The witness died instantly, raising alarms about the extent of the alleged drug operation.
A tribunal hearing regarding Paradkar’s license is scheduled for 10 a.m. ET on Friday. The Law Society’s motion warns that failing to restrict Paradkar’s ability to practice law could further jeopardize public safety and the integrity of the justice system.
As these developments unfold, the implications for Paradkar, Wedding, and their alleged criminal enterprise could resonate widely, impacting not only their futures but also the broader legal and law enforcement communities.
Stay tuned for updates on this urgent case as it continues to develop.
