Pilot Butte Hosts Urgent ‘Tiny Art Show’ Celebrating Local Talent
UPDATE: A unique art showcase is currently taking place in Pilot Butte, spotlighting over 200 pieces of local talent and fostering community connections. The “Tiny Art Show” opened on December 3, 2023, at the town hall and features works from members of the Ranch Ehrlo Society, a non-profit organization that provides care and social services.
Leslie Charlton, arts program supervisor at the Ranch Ehrlo Society, stated, “The artists were just given free reign to paint, draw, collage, speed, whatever they wanted.” The result? An eclectic mix of 213 art pieces that reflect the diversity and creativity of the Ranch Ehrlo community.
The initiative, organized in partnership with the Town of Pilot Butte, aims to integrate youth and adults while enhancing their sense of belonging. “They wanted to further that,” Charlton noted, emphasizing the importance of welcoming the youth residing at Ranch Ehrlo into the larger community.
The show is not just a display; it also includes artwork available for purchase, with proceeds going to support community fundraising efforts. “We just really wanted to bridge that gap and make them feel more welcome,” said Coun. Don Turner, highlighting the ongoing efforts to connect local youth with residents.
Approximately 90 individuals from group homes in Regina and Pilot Butte contributed to this vibrant exhibition. “It’s a really nice opportunity for them to be celebrated, to have an exciting event to just showcase what they’re all about,” Charlton added.
The art will be on display at the Pilot Butte Public Library until December 10, 2023. This event is crucial for building community ties and celebrating the artistic expressions of those who may often feel marginalized.
As the show continues, local residents and visitors are encouraged to engage with the art and the artists, making this a significant moment for both the community and the individuals involved. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to support local talent and foster a sense of inclusivity in Pilot Butte.
