UPDATE: A family from Pitt Meadows, B.C. has fled Canada following a shocking attack captured on surveillance video. The brutal incident, which occurred on September 26, shows businessman John Ling being violently assaulted by two masked men wielding baseball bats just outside his home.

Ling’s wife attempted to intervene during the attack, which left them both traumatized. As the assault unfolded, Ling’s daughter and dog fled the scene in fear. “Mr. Ling is left there with his wife, sort of taking care of him,” said Ling’s lawyer, Russell Robertson. The chilling footage also appears to show a third suspect placing a “tracking device” under the family’s vehicle, raising serious concerns about their safety.

Ling, owner of the Canadian Aviation College, sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized, although his injuries are not life-threatening. Authorities, including the Ridge Meadows RCMP, are investigating the incident, reviewing video footage, and interviewing witnesses. They have indicated that this may have been a targeted attack.

“Mr. Ling has left the country out of what appears to be quite a legitimate fear that the attackers are going to come and finish the job,” Robertson stated. “He doesn’t want this to happen to him again and expose his wife and daughter to this danger.”

Robertson emphasized Ling’s fear and desire for justice, stating that by sharing the video, they hope to encourage anyone with information to step forward. “He is certainly afraid and afraid for his family, but he’s not afraid to speak up and put this video out there in the hopes that there will be some justice,” he added.

As of now, no suspects have been identified, and the police investigation is ongoing. The community is urged to come forward with any relevant information. Those with details can contact the Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the Pitt Meadows community, raising questions about safety and the potential for organized crime. The urgency of this situation highlights the importance of vigilance and community support in the face of violence.
