URGENT UPDATE: Police have issued nearly 800 tickets for speeding and impaired driving in a major enforcement operation surrounding the Shambhala Music Festival held from July 25 to 28, 2023, in Salmo, British Columbia. Authorities report that this crackdown, conducted by the BC Highway Patrol and Nelson Police, was essential for ensuring the safety of festival-goers traveling to and from the event.
Over the course of the four-day festival, law enforcement focused on identifying unsafe vehicles and impaired drivers, resulting in more than 80 tickets issued for driving under the influence of drugs.
