Police Urgently Seek Help to Identify E-Scooter Rider in Ajax Crash

URGENT UPDATE: Police in Ajax are urgently seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an e-scooter rider who is currently in critical condition following a serious crash that occurred just before 3:15 p.m. on July 15, 2023. The incident took place on Kitney Drive, north of Clements Road West, as the unidentified male lost control of his Segway Ninebot Kick Scooter Max G2, leading to a severe head injury.

Authorities report that the rider, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, has been airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto where he remains unconscious and in life-threatening condition. The urgency of this matter is intensified by the fact that the rider does not have any identification on him, making it critical for police to locate anyone who might recognize him.

Described as a white male between 45 and 60 years old, standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 220 pounds, the rider has a bald head and a scruffy grey beard. At the time of the crash, he was seen wearing dark green corduroy shorts, prescription glasses, and a faded black baseball hat emblazoned with “Pinewood Toronto Studios.” He also had on black Reebok shoes featuring white soles and red accents.
