PWHL Vancouver Unveils Exciting Jerseys for Inaugural Season

BREAKING: PWHL Vancouver just unveiled its highly anticipated home and away jerseys, setting the stage for the league’s inaugural season. The reveal took place on October 21, 2023, as excitement builds for the first game on November 21, 2023, against PWHL Seattle.

The new jerseys prominently feature “Vancouver” diagonally across the front, highlighted in striking Pacific blue and cream, accented by an earthy bronze. This design pays tribute to the original six teams of the PWHL, as explained by Amy Scheer, PWHL executive vice-president of business operations.

“By showcasing the city’s name, we aim to create an immediate connection between the fans and their hometown’s newest professional team,” Scheer stated. She emphasized the importance of connecting expansion teams to the league’s heritage while fostering local traditions.

In a parallel unveiling, PWHL Seattle also showcased its jerseys, which share a similar design ethos but are tailored to their team colors. The official team name and logo will be revealed before the season starts, but they will not be integrated into the uniforms until the 2026-2027 season.

PWHL Vancouver forward Sarah Nurse expressed her excitement about the jersey reveal, stating, “It truly feels surreal to think that in a month, I’ll be wearing that in a game for the first time. I already feel like we have such a strong fan base in Vancouver and can’t wait to compete on the ice in front of all of them on opening night!”

Fans can look forward to the inaugural game at the Pacific Coliseum, with the team also utilizing the PNE Agrodome for practice. The PWHL will welcome these new teams as it embarks on its third season, joining the original teams: Toronto Sceptres, Montreal Victoire, Ottawa Charge, Minnesota Frost, Boston Fleet, and New York Sirens.
