R. Donald Maracle Re-elected Chief in Tyendinaga Mohawk Council Election
UPDATE: The 2025 Tyendinaga Mohawk Council election results are officially in, with a decisive outcome for Chief and six Councillors. Residents cast their votes on December 6, 2025, at Quinte Mohawk School, and the results signal a strong endorsement for the incumbent leadership.
In a stunning victory, R. Donald Maracle has been re-elected as Chief, securing over 90% of the votes with a total of 1,008 ballots in his favor. This marks his 32nd year in office, underscoring the community’s trust in his leadership.
The newly elected Councillors include:
– Chris ‘Hockey’ Brant – 755 votes
– Kurtis ‘Chip’ Brant – 680 votes
– Ogwari Brant – 490 votes
– Erin Ferrante – 612 votes
– Lynda Leween – 639 votes
– Sara Loft – 704 votes
