BREAKING: The Kitchener Rangers experienced their first defeat of the season, falling to the Owen Sound Attack with a score of 5-2 in a road game. This marked only the second road trip for the Rangers, who struggled to regain momentum after a promising start.

The game began slowly, with Owen Sound securing the first goal in the opening period. However, the Rangers quickly responded in the second, as Haeden Ellis netted a goal, followed by a rapid second from Jack Pridham just thirty seconds later. Unfortunately, that would be all the Rangers could achieve as the Attack surged ahead, scoring three additional goals in the second period and one more in the third.

Head coach Jussi Ahokas attributed the loss, in part, to the penalties faced by the Rangers. The Blueshirts allowed the Attack to capitalize with four powerplay goals, a critical factor in the game’s outcome.

Fans will have to wait before the Rangers have another chance for redemption. The team will take the week off to regroup and prepare for a rematch against Owen Sound at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium this Friday, November 3, 2023. The puck drops at 7 p.m., with all the action broadcast on 570 NewsRadio, starting with the pre-game show at 6:30 p.m., hosted by Mike Farwell and Josh Piercey.

This loss is a setback for the Rangers, who are eager to bounce back and secure a victory in their next game. Fans will be watching closely as the team looks to make adjustments and return to form.
