URGENT UPDATE: Aviation enthusiasts in Regina are in for an exhilarating experience this Sunday, September 7, 2023! The Regina Flying Club is hosting a free open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring the iconic Cold War-era Fouga Magister jet. This is a rare opportunity to see and even fly in a historic aircraft that has captivated aviation fans for decades.

The Fouga Magister is a two-seat jet trainer originally designed for the French Air Force in the 1950s. Although intended for training, it saw extensive action as a close air support platform across various nations. Now a civilian treasure, one of the few Magisters is owned by Golden Era Aviation and stationed at Regina International Airport. This is one of only two locations in Canada where civilians can experience flight in a former military jet.

Attendees can expect a thrilling “bucket list experience,” with the Magister capable of reaching speeds up to 750 kilometers per hour. Piloted by Mike Moula, the flight experience includes exhilarating maneuvers. “We start off with some gentle banking to gauge comfort, then gradually increase the g-force from 1.5 g to 3 g,” Moula explained. “If everything is going well, we can perform loops and rolls, showcasing some gentleman’s aerobatics.”

The open house will also showcase numerous other aircraft, making it a must-attend event for anyone passionate about aviation. This unique opportunity not only provides insight into military aviation history but also allows attendees to engage with the aircraft up close and personal.

As excitement builds, the Regina Flying Club encourages all to join this extraordinary aviation event. Don’t miss your chance to soar above Regina and fulfill your dreams of flying! Be sure to arrive early to explore all the offerings throughout the day.

Stay tuned for updates and make plans to attend this thrilling open house event!
