Southlake Run Aims to Surpass $500,000 for Local Health Care
UPDATE: The countdown is officially on for the 2026 Nature’s Emporium Run for Southlake, scheduled for April 26, 2026. Following a record-breaking fundraising effort last year that raised over $460,000, organizers are setting their sights on a new ambitious goal: to surpass $500,000.
In a vibrant launch event held at Nature’s Emporium’s flagship location in Newmarket, Ontario, community leaders rallied to encourage local residents to participate. Jennifer Ritter, President and CEO of the Southlake Health Foundation, expressed optimism about this year’s turnout, anticipating even greater participation than the 1,650 attendees who joined in last year’s festivities.
“We know that this year is going to be a record-breaking year,” said Ritter. “The bar is set. We want to blow past half-a-million dollars this year.” She emphasized the critical need for community support to fund essential patient care services, stating, “Without the support of our community, we wouldn’t be able to look after all the members of our community.”
The event is more than just a run; it’s a celebration of community spirit. Steve Hollingsworth, representing Nature’s Emporium, highlighted the emotional connection many have with local health care. “Southlake Health is where our loved ones go to get the care they need,” he noted, reinforcing the importance of this event in fostering connections among residents.
This year, the Run for Southlake not only aims to raise funds but also seeks to unite the community in an era where technology often divides. “There’s not that many events like this that give us this opportunity to show up for each other,” Hollingsworth added.
As the event approaches, both organizers and participants are gearing up for what they hope will be a transformative day. Individuals eager to contribute or participate can find more information on how to register or make pledges at runforsouthlake.ca.
With community support, the Run for Southlake aims not only to reach its financial goals but also to build lasting connections among those who value health and wellbeing. The countdown to April 26 is officially underway; join the movement to support local health care today!
