Sterling (2-2, 1-1) was on the ropes before a crucial touchdown by Brady Berlin just six seconds before halftime ignited their comeback. Berlin’s rushing score shifted the momentum, giving the Golden Warriors the confidence they needed.

In a display of sheer determination, Maurice De La Cruz led the charge with an impressive 127 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries. Berlin also contributed significantly, completing 11 of 19 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown to Quincy Maas. Sterling’s defense played a pivotal role, with a safety resulting from a botched end zone snap by UT and interceptions that stifled the Panthers’ offense.

The Golden Warriors’ defense was relentless, limiting UT’s Isaiah Navarrete to just 55 yards on 16 carries, showcasing their ability to adapt and overcome adversity.

In other notable matchups in the Western Big 6 Conference, the Dixon Dukes secured a commanding 48-0 win against North Boone, extending their impressive streak to a combined 118-0 over their last two games. Meanwhile, the Oregon Hawks dominated Rock Falls 49-0, with multiple players contributing to the scoring, including a 61-yard kick return touchdown by Aiden Currier.
