URGENT UPDATE: Calgary is experiencing a sudden shift in weather as a warm front moves in, promising seasonal daytime highs and increased sunshine this week. Just after a weekend marked by cooler temperatures, strong winds, and light precipitation, residents can expect a dramatic change starting Monday, October 30, 2023.

Meteorologists report that a ridge of high pressure is currently settling over the Prairies, pushing cooler air eastward. This will result in daytime temperatures in Calgary rising from 10 C on Monday to a high of 16 C by Friday, November 3, 2023. Overnight lows will also elevate, peaking at 7 C on Friday, compared to the seasonal average of 11 C for daytime highs and -2 C for overnight lows.

While Calgary enjoys this mild weather, snow is anticipated along the northern Rockies. However, authorities confirm that the snowfall should remain west of the QEII and Highway 2 over the next 48 hours.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this break in the cooler weather, as the coming days promise plenty of sunshine and more moderate temperatures, a welcome change after the unsettled weekend.

Stay tuned for further updates as weather patterns continue to evolve. This week’s warm spell could be an opportunity for outdoor activities and local events, so don’t miss out!
