UPDATE: A teenage boy remains in custody, charged with the murder of a 19-year-old man in Terrebonne, Quebec. The accused, whose identity is protected due to his minor status, faced multiple charges, including second-degree murder, in a Laval courtroom on Friday. He is scheduled for a bail hearing on November 25 after the Crown prosecutor opposed his release.

The shocking incident unfolded on October 3 at approximately 9 p.m. when local police responded to a disturbance at Angora Park on Boulevard des Seigneurs. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, a resident of St-Eustache, suffering from severe injuries. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.

Authorities, including the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), have confirmed that the accused was apprehended on Thursday following an investigation linked to the murder. Police revealed that the teen was also wanted for multiple theft and fraud cases related to online transactions, particularly on the Facebook Marketplace platform. Several victims reported losing money when attempting to purchase advertised items like mobile phones.

Local authorities are urging the public to exercise caution when engaging in online transactions. They recommend verifying seller credentials and utilizing designated safe trading zones, with the Montreal police department listing 18 such zones to enhance safety for buyers and sellers alike.

The community is in shock following this tragic event, with many questioning how such violence could erupt in a familiar public space. As investigations continue, residents are reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local law enforcement.

Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story as the legal proceedings unfold.
