Tenant Charged After Assaulting Landlord in Erin Dispute

URGENT UPDATE: A landlord-tenant dispute in Erin has escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in assault charges against a 58-year-old tenant. The incident occurred on July 15, 2023, when police responded to reports of a heated argument that took a violent turn.
According to Wellington OPP, officers arrived at the scene on Saturday afternoon after receiving calls about the confrontation. Witnesses report that the tenant allegedly “belly-bumped” the landlord, knocking them to the ground. Authorities confirm that the tenant also threatened the landlord during the altercation.
Although the landlord was not injured, the confrontation has led to serious legal repercussions for the tenant. Police have charged them with assault and “uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm.”
