Thunderbirds Triumph 3-1 in Home Opener Against Timmins Rock

The Thunderbirds struck first just over 13 minutes into the first period, as Aiden Atkinson executed a flawless breakaway, lifting a shot past Timmins’ goaltender Frédéric Cousineau. Building on this momentum, James Legler found the net at 14:13, with a shot that slipped through traffic as Creegan Tompkins screened the opposing goalie.

Despite a fast-paced second period from the Rock, Maguire’s exceptional performance kept the scoreline intact, denying every attempt from Timmins. As the game moved into the final frame, the Thunderbirds extended their lead with just 6:24 remaining. A drop pass from Jaxon Turnbull set up Max DeCoff, who unleashed a powerful shot through a crowded zone, sealing the three-goal advantage.
