Toronto Police Seek Suspect in Parkdale Sexual Assault Case
Toronto Police are actively seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a sexual assault that occurred early Thursday morning in Parkdale. Officers responded to an emergency call shortly before 05:00 on March 14, 2024, in the vicinity of Queen Street West and Fuller Avenue.
The adult victim reported that while walking on the sidewalk, a male approached and sexually assaulted them before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 40 years old, standing around 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build, brown hair, blue eyes, and blond facial hair. He was last seen wearing a grey or navy parka jacket with a fluorescent stripe across the top, grey pants, running shoes, and a dark-colored tuque.
Police have released images of the suspect and urge anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-1100 or to reach out to Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
Grimsby Shooting Investigation Leads to Sixth Arrest
In a separate incident, a sixth individual has been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place in Grimsby last September. The incident, which occurred on September 24, 2023, resulted in one person suffering serious injuries.
According to the Niagara Regional Police, they received a report regarding a shooting near the Grimsby/Stoney Creek border on the evening of the incident. A male victim was found shot on South Service Road near Kelson Road North and was subsequently transported to a local trauma center for treatment. Although his injuries were serious, they were not life-threatening.
Following extensive investigations, police had already arrested five individuals in October. Those arrested include Jawad Rabbani, 25, Shamaree Salmon, 31, Samantha McPhee, 27, Hannah Baillie, 28, and Shakem Keane-Dawes, 20, all of whom face a combined total of 78 firearm and drug charges.
On March 14, 2024, police announced the arrest of Bellaluddin Shahabuddin, 27, from Thorold. He faces charges including conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, aggravated assault, and unauthorized possession of a firearm, among others. Shahabuddin is currently in custody and is expected to appear at a bail hearing on March 18, 2024, in St. Catharines.

Hamilton Man Arrested After Gun Incident at Restaurant
In a related firearms incident, a 19-year-old male was arrested following reports of a gun sighting inside a Hamilton fast-food restaurant on the evening of March 14, 2024. Hamilton Police received a call around 21:15 regarding individuals believed to be in possession of a firearm.
Upon arrival at the restaurant on Centennial Parkway North, officers located two individuals matching the descriptions provided by the public. During a safety search, police discovered a loaded Glock-style handgun concealed in the waistband of one suspect. The firearm contained 20 rounds in the magazine and one round in the chamber.
The accused, identified as Jesse Murie, now faces multiple charges, including unauthorized possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon. Notably, Murie was bound by a court-ordered undertaking that prohibited him from possessing firearms, ammunition, or related devices at the time of his arrest.
The second individual involved was released without charge. The seized firearm and ammunition will undergo further forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
As law enforcement agencies continue to address gun-related incidents and sexual assaults in the region, the public’s cooperation remains crucial for maintaining safety and justice.
