Township of Langley Urgently Seeks Residents for Advisory Committees

URGENT UPDATE: The Township of Langley is calling on residents to join its crucial advisory committees, with applications due by Friday, October 24, 2023. This is a vital opportunity for community members to influence key issues and help shape the municipality’s future.

Residents with a background in farming, agritourism, or a passion for local heritage are particularly encouraged to apply. The Agricultural Advisory Committee plays a significant role in advancing the Township’s Sustainability Charter, focusing on enhancing the agricultural economy, preserving farmland, and maintaining Langley’s cherished rural landscapes. This committee is essential for preserving Langley’s unique community identity.

The Township is also seeking members for the Heritage Advisory Committee, dedicated to protecting the natural, built, and cultural heritage of Langley. Committee members will engage in stewardship efforts that are crucial for safeguarding the Township’s historical and cultural resources.

Furthermore, the Recreation, Culture, and Parks Advisory Committee is looking for input on leisure services, while the Seniors Advisory Committee aims to amplify the voices of seniors on pressing issues like transportation, affordability, and service delivery. This committee has positions available for terms ranging from one to two years, including a youth spot for applicants aged 16 to 24.

Applications can be submitted online at tol.ca/committee or mailed to the Township Clerk at the Legislative Services Division, located at 20338 65 Ave., Langley. The deadline is rapidly approaching, making this an urgent call for interested residents to step forward.
