Calgary resident John Wark scored big after purchasing a winning Scratch and Win ticket at Mini Food Mart located at 440 Erin Woods Dr. S.E.. “I was just picking up firewood on Halloween night when I bought the ticket,” he recalled. His luck turned when he spun the wheel at the event, landing on a jaw-dropping $500,000 prize. “I was flabbergasted!” he exclaimed.
Meanwhile, James Garvey from Okotoks also joined the millionaire club. He won his ticket from Shoppers Drug Mart at 171 31 Southridge Dr. on July 21, which granted him a spin on the prize wheel. “Everyone in the store went crazy,” he said, reflecting on the moment he won $10,000. Garvey’s spin led to a remarkable $500,000 windfall. “This is really going to change my life,” he stated, expressing hopes of traveling to the U.K. after Christmas.
Another winner, Mohamad Belo, also from Calgary, purchased a Plinko ticket at Circle K on 8 McKenzie Town Ave. S.E. on July 9. His excitement was palpable as he scratched his ticket, revealing a win of $10,000 and a spin opportunity. Belo’s big spin netted him $200,000, and he declared, “I want to buy a house. This money is just—wow!”
The winners shared their dreams with the media. Wark hopes to help his wife retire after 35 years together, with plans to downsize their home and travel across Canada to visit family. “Ireland is on my bucket list!” he added enthusiastically.
Tickets for The Big Spin and The Bigger Spin are available at Lotto Spot retailers throughout Alberta. With so much excitement generated by these wins, players are encouraged to try their luck at upcoming events.
