Two Campbell River Students Awarded Governor General’s Academic Medals
URGENT UPDATE: Two exceptional students from Campbell River have just been honored with the prestigious Governor General’s Academic Medal for their remarkable academic achievements during their final two years of secondary education. Rebecca Sutherland from Carihi Secondary and Alexander Langmayr from Timberline Secondary are the proud recipients, each boasting the highest overall average in their respective schools at graduation.
“This recognition is a testament to their hard work and dedication,” stated Geoff Manning, superintendent of School District 72. “We are extremely proud of Rebecca and Alex. Achieving this level of academic success is no small feat, and their perseverance will undoubtedly lead them to future successes.”
Both graduates are set to continue their education at the University of Victoria. Sutherland will embark on a combined Bachelor of Science degree in biology and psychology, aspiring to a career in research. Meanwhile, Langmayr will delve into the engineering program, focusing on computer hardware engineering, with dreams of entering the competitive world of racing design.
