URGENT UPDATE: Two individuals in their 70s are dead following a tragic head-on collision in Lachute, Quebec, just an hour north of Montreal. The incident occurred at approximately 11 a.m. on November 5, 2023, as confirmed by the Provincial Police (SQ).

According to initial reports, one vehicle was traveling east on Route 158 when it veered into the opposite lane, colliding with a westbound car. The two occupants of the struck vehicle, a man and a woman, were rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival.

In a separate vehicle was a woman driver, who sustained injuries but is reported to be in stable condition and her life is not in danger. The SQ has stated that all possibilities are being investigated as they seek to determine the cause of this devastating accident.
