UPDATE: The No. 5 UConn Huskies clinched a thrilling 71-63 victory over the Texas Longhorns on December 8, 2023, in Hartford, Connecticut, marking their final nonconference game of the season. Star player Alex Karaban shone brightly, scoring 18 points and achieving the significant milestone of his 1,500th career point.

This victory is crucial for UConn (10-1), who has now secured their sixth consecutive win, solidifying their position as a top contender this season. Despite a challenging second half, the Huskies maintained control, with key contributions from Tarris Reed Jr., who added 12 points, and both Jaylin Stewart and Braylon Mullins, who chipped in with 10 points each.

The game was competitive throughout, with Texas (7-4) trailing by just five points late in the second half. However, UConn’s defense held firm, preventing the Longhorns from closing the gap.
