UPDATE: Batavia Police are urgently seeking the public’s assistance in a burglary investigation following a break-in reported at a home on Wednesday. Officers responded promptly at 4:38 PM to the residence located in the 1000 block of Danforth Drive.

Authorities confirm that the incident occurred between 9:06 AM and 4:29 PM on September 3, when no one was home. Investigators revealed that the suspect attempted to gain entry through an exterior garage door. The burglary appears targeted, as it was isolated to specific rooms within the house, indicating that this was not a random act.

Police are focused on gathering evidence and are requesting residents in the vicinity to review any exterior surveillance footage captured during the incident timeframe. “We believe that footage could be crucial in identifying the suspect,” said a police spokesperson.

As the investigation progresses, authorities have not yet determined what items were taken from the home. The Batavia Police Department urges anyone with information to step forward and contact the investigations division at 630-454-2500.

This urgent call for help highlights the importance of community vigilance in ensuring safety. With the rise in property crimes, local residents are encouraged to remain aware and proactive. Police activities are ongoing as they work to solve this case swiftly.
