BREAKING: A commercial break-in at a jewellery store in Cambridge early this morning has resulted in significant damage and a police investigation. Authorities report that at approximately 12:30 a.m. on October 23, 2023, four males forced their way into the store located near Conestoga Boulevard and Sheldon Drive, an area known for multiple jewellery outlets.

Police from the Waterloo Regional Police were dispatched after receiving a call about the break-in. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the suspects had pried open a security door and smashed a display case. Fortunately, no items were reported stolen, but the damage incurred is estimated at around $15,000.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact the police at 519-570-977. This incident is particularly alarming given that this is not the first time this area has been targeted by thieves. Earlier this year, in May, police investigated a weekend break-in at a commercial business in the same area, where unknown suspects made off with over $800,000 worth of property.

The ongoing threat to businesses raises concerns among local owners and residents. Community members are reminded to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities to law enforcement.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities are focused on identifying the suspects involved in this brazen act. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available. Stay tuned for further developments on this urgent situation.
