Urgent: Calgary Man Charged with Manslaughter in Death of Jelisa Maschki

The charge stems from an altercation that occurred on December 8, 2024, between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., as police believe Maschki was involved in a confrontation shortly before her life-threatening condition was reported. In a swift response, authorities have charged Nehemiah Walter John Oslund, a 29-year-old man from Cranbrook, B.C., with manslaughter.

It is currently believed that Oslund and Maschki were not previously acquainted. He remains in custody in B.C. and is slated to be transported to Calgary for a court appearance, although the exact date has not yet been established.
