Urgent: Curbside Christmas Tree Collection Starts Soon in Belleville
UPDATE: Curbside Christmas tree collection kicks off in Belleville this Friday, January 2, 2024, with Quinte West following closely behind on January 5 and January 12. Residents are urged to prepare their trees for pickup, marking the start of the seasonal cleanup.
Starting this Friday, Belleville residents can place their Christmas trees curbside for collection. The schedule is divided by zones, with collection times as follows:
– **January 2:** Zones 5 & 6 (north of Highway 401 and east and west of Highway 37)
– **January 5:** Zone 1 (west of Moira River & south of CNR Tracks)
– **January 6:** Zone 2 (west of Moira River & north of CNR Tracks, south of Highway 401)
– **January 7:** Zone 4 (east of Moira River & south of Victoria Avenue)
– **January 8:** Zone 3 (east of Moira River & north of Victoria Avenue)
Residents must have their trees out by 8 a.m. on their designated collection day. City officials stress the importance of ensuring trees are free of ornaments and tinsel to avoid delays. For a complete map of the zones, visit http://Belleville.ca/YardWaste.
Quinte West will follow suit with curbside collection on the next two Mondays: January 5 and January 12. Residents there should place trees at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection days. Note that artificial trees will not be accepted. An alternative drop-off option is available at the Frankford yard waste depot.
This initiative is part of the city’s efforts to promote sustainable waste management and support residents in post-holiday cleanups. Officials are encouraging community participation to ensure a smooth collection process.
Make sure your tree is ready, and share this urgent update with your neighbors to help spread the word!
