Urgent: Langford Mounties Investigate Disturbing BB-Gun Attacks
UPDATE: Authorities in Langford, B.C., are urgently investigating a series of disturbing BB-gun attacks targeting pedestrians on Thursday night. The West Shore RCMP confirmed that four separate incidents occurred within a rapid time frame from 9:40 p.m. to 10:44 p.m., raising serious concerns among local residents.
The first incident unfolded near Alouette Drive and Glen Lake Road, where a male victim was struck by a BB while walking. Eyewitness accounts indicate that the shots were fired from a passing vehicle, described as a black SUV carrying four male youths.
Just twenty minutes later, at 10:00 p.m., a residence on Bellamy Road came under fire, with a witness reporting the same black SUV fleeing the scene. The situation escalated quickly, as another victim, this time female, was shot with a BB less than five minutes later in the 800 block of Brock Avenue. The final report of a BB attack occurred in the same area, again involving a male victim.
In response to these alarming reports, police conducted extensive patrols and successfully located a black 2009 Ford Escape, believed to be the suspect vehicle. However, the suspects remain unidentified, described only as three to four male youths.
The RCMP is calling on the community for assistance. They urge anyone who witnessed these incidents or possesses surveillance footage from 9:30 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264. Residents in the affected areas may hold crucial evidence that could help identify the suspects and bring them to justice.
Authorities have stressed the importance of community vigilance in light of these disturbing events. As investigations continue, tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or through victoriacrimestoppers.ca.
