UPDATE: The Batavia Chamber of Commerce has just announced that nominations are now open for the highly anticipated 2025 Batavia Citizen of the Year Award. This prestigious award honors a resident whose lifelong commitment and exemplary services have significantly enriched the Batavia community.
Residents and business owners of Batavia or Batavia Township are eligible to be nominated. The awarded individual must have made notable contributions to local programs or improvements through personal dedication. It’s important to note that current members of the chamber’s board of directors are ineligible for this honor.
The award recipient will be celebrated as the guest of honor at the chamber’s annual Inspire Celebration on April 23, 2025, taking place at Revelry 675, located at 675 S. River St., Batavia. This event is a key opportunity to recognize community leaders who have made a lasting impact.
Nominations must be submitted via a letter of recommendation by November 7, 2024. The letter should detail why the nominee deserves this recognition, highlighting their contributions and commitment to the community. A committee of past award recipients will review the submissions to select the winner.
Letters can be sent via email to [email protected] or mailed directly to Margaret Perreault, President and CEO of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce, at 106 W. Wilson St., Batavia, IL 60510. For further inquiries, interested parties can contact Margaret by email or at 630-879-7134.
This is a unique opportunity for residents to spotlight those who have gone above and beyond for the community.
