Urgent Rainfall Warning: Up to 60 mm Expected in Quinte This Week
UPDATE: Environment Canada has just issued an urgent Special Weather Statement for the Quinte Region, forecasting heavy rain over the next two days. Starting Thursday, October 26, 2023, residents should prepare for a significant downpour, with total rainfall amounts expected to reach between 30 to 60 mm.
The rain will begin Thursday morning, with 10 to 20 mm expected throughout the day. Conditions are set to worsen Thursday night, with an additional 15 to 25 mm anticipated. As if that weren’t enough, Friday, October 27, could see another 10 to 15 mm of rain, creating potentially hazardous conditions for those out for Halloween festivities.
70% chance of showers looms over Friday night, threatening to dampen the spirits of trick-or-treaters. This weather system is expected to bring the heaviest rainfall during the evening hours, which could lead to reduced visibility and slippery roads.
Residents are urged to take precautions to ensure safety, especially while commuting or participating in outdoor activities. The impact of these rainfall amounts could lead to localized flooding and difficult travel conditions.
Prepare now: Check local forecasts regularly and consider postponing outdoor plans if possible. Stay tuned for updates as this weather situation develops.
As we inch closer to Halloween, the Quinte Region could experience a spooky twist, but not the fun kind. Make sure to share this important weather news with friends and family to keep everyone informed and safe.
