BREAKING: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has just announced a major recall of several types of Pillsbury brand Pizza Pops due to potential contamination with E. coli O26. This urgent recall affects consumers across Canada, as authorities warn that the affected snacks may pose serious health risks even if they appear safe.

The recall includes Pizza Pops pepperoni and bacon snacks sold in 760-gram and 2.85-kilogram packages, with best-before dates of June 9 and June 10, 2026. Also impacted are the Pizza Pops Supremo Extreme pepperoni and bacon snacks packaged in three-kilogram boxes, with best-before dates ranging from June 10 to June 12, 2026, along with Pizza Pops Frank’s RedHot pepperoni and bacon snacks in 380-gram packages, which have a best-before date of June 14, 2026.

Officials stress that the contaminated products may not display any visible signs of spoilage, making it crucial for consumers to check their freezers immediately. The CFIA has confirmed that the recall is a precautionary measure, and although other Pillsbury Pizza Pops products remain unaffected, the risk of ingestion should not be taken lightly.

In a statement, General Mills reassured the public that this is a voluntary recall and emphasized that safety remains their top priority. Consumers who have purchased the affected Pizza Pops are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

This recall highlights the ongoing challenges in food safety and the need for vigilance among consumers. If you or someone you know has these products at home, act quickly to avoid potential health risks.
