Urgent Spike in Missing Children Reports at Queen City Ex 2025
URGENT UPDATE: Police have reported a dramatic surge in missing children incidents during the 2025 Queen City Ex, held from July 30 to August 3. The Regina Police Service (RPS) responded to 76 cases of lost children, marking a significant increase compared to just 39 cases in 2024 and a mere 12 cases in 2023. Fortunately, all children reported missing were safely returned to their families.
This alarming trend highlights the need for heightened safety measures at large events. With 262,720 attendees at last year’s festival, the surge in reports raises concerns about crowd management and child safety. The RPS noted that while incidents of intoxicated individuals and altercations decreased, the rise in lost children is particularly concerning.
Authorities stress the importance of vigilance during large gatherings. Police officers, both uniformed and in plain clothes, were deployed throughout the event, working tirelessly to ensure the safety of all attendees.
As the Queen City Ex wraps up, officials are analyzing the data to implement better protective measures for the future. The community is urged to remain alert, especially in crowded environments.
Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as authorities continue to assess the situation and improve safety protocols for future events.
