Urgent Update: Exciting Events Unfolding This Weekend in Brandon
UPDATE: Excitement is palpable as multiple thrilling events kick off this weekend in Brandon, Manitoba, from August 14 to 16, 2025. The Virden Indoor Rodeo and Wild West Daze promises an action-packed agenda, featuring semi-professional rodeo performances and family-friendly festivities at the Tundra Oil and Gas Place.
The weekend kicks off today with a lineup that includes a 7 a.m. pancake breakfast, a high school rodeo at 9 a.m., and a Corex Rodeo Kickoff BBQ at 11 a.m.. Attendees can enjoy the Downtown Wild West Daze events later in the evening from 5 to 10 p.m., complete with live entertainment by Julianna Moore, food stalls, and carnival games. This annual event draws contestants from across the Prairies, northern U.S., and even international entries from New Zealand and Australia.
Meanwhile, the Canada’s National Arabian Championship is underway at the Keystone Centre until August 16, showcasing the largest Arabian horse show in Canada. With free admission, spectators can witness top competitors vying for national titles across more than 100 classes.
In addition to these major events, the Brandon Farmers’ Market is happening today at The Town Centre until 4 p.m., offering seasonal produce, crafts, and local delicacies. The Minnedosa Fun Fest also launches today with activities for families, including a kids’ bike parade and live music.
SATURDAY is packed with events! The Virden Indoor Rodeo continues with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by a parade at 10 a.m., and exciting rodeo performances starting at 6:30 p.m.. Additionally, the Harvest Sun Music Fest takes place in Kelwood, featuring live music from renowned artists and open-air performances.
On SUNDAY, the Virden Indoor Rodeo concludes its festivities with a series of events, including a demolition derby from 1-5 p.m. and the Downtown Breakaway Jackpot at 10 a.m..
Don’t miss the chance to enjoy the Elvis Presley Tribute Dinner Show at Danceland, featuring a full-length performance by Rory Allen, starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. With so much happening, there’s no shortage of entertainment this weekend.
