Urgent Update: Prince Albert Transit Faces Delays Amid Snowfall
UPDATE: Heavy snowfall in Prince Albert is disrupting transit services, prompting officials to urge riders to check their transit apps for real-time updates. As of February 5, 2024, the city reported that colder temperatures and ongoing snow have forced adjustments across the transit system.
“Colder temperatures and snowfall have impacted transit operations, resulting in some routes being taken offline or temporarily moved to hourly service,” said city officials. Riders should remain informed as Prince Albert Transit works diligently to maintain coverage and adjust routes as needed during these challenging conditions.
Forecasts predict an additional 5-10 cm of snow on Tuesday, accompanied by winds of 15 km/h, further complicating travel plans. With temperatures expected to drop again later this week, the impact on transit could escalate, making it essential for commuters to stay updated.
Currently, the Core Express bus did not operate on Monday, and other services, including the all-day bus, are now running on an hourly basis. The East Hill and West Flat buses are also temporarily adjusting to hourly schedules.
Riders are encouraged to subscribe to Transit News for email notifications and utilize the Transit Live app for real-time bus tracking. Authorities are committed to providing timely updates to ensure all passengers can navigate the ongoing winter challenges.
As the situation develops, commuters should remain vigilant and prepare for potential further delays in the coming days. Stay tuned for more updates as the city continues to monitor conditions and make necessary adjustments to transit services.
