UPDATE: Authorities confirm that the victim of a serious pedestrian collision involving a truck in Battleford has been located. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) reported this significant development early Sunday morning, following the incident that occurred around 4 p.m. on December 13, 2023.

In an urgent statement, RCMP officials revealed that the pedestrian was found in an unrelated vehicle and reported suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was struck by a truck while standing near it, and subsequently entered the same vehicle, which then fled the scene.

Police swiftly identified the dark-colored truck, which was later discovered abandoned at a residence on Mosquito Grizzly Bear’s Head Lean Man First Nation. Authorities are seeking to locate the driver and have described the truck as having distinctive rims—one black front rim and a silver back rim.

“We urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the truck to come forward,” said an RCMP spokesperson. Witnesses reported seeing a man near the scene wearing a black hat with a logo and a brown jacket, and officials are eager to speak with him as part of the ongoing investigation.

The RCMP continues to investigate this incident and is appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone with information is strongly encouraged to contact Battlefords RCMP or submit anonymous tips through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.

This developing story highlights the urgent need for community vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement. As details emerge, the RCMP remains committed to ensuring justice is served. Stay tuned for further updates as this situation unfolds.
