UPDATE: The Prince Albert Catholic School Division has just confirmed the re-election of Suzanne Stubbs as Chair and Pat Hordyski as Vice Chair during an organizational meeting on November 3, 2023. This decision comes at a crucial time as the board prepares to develop a new four-year strategic plan aimed at enhancing student learning and achievement.

Suzanne Stubbs, who has served as a trustee since 2008 and stepped into the Chair role in 2019, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to continue leading. “I am honoured to continue in the role of Chair again this year,” she stated. “We have a very engaged Board of Education who truly want to support student learning and achievement.”

Meanwhile, Pat Hordyski, a trustee since 2012 and entering his fourth year as Vice Chair, shared his excitement about returning to this key position. “I am excited to be back as vice-chair of the Board of Education. This is my 14th year as trustee, and I have always wanted to support Catholic education,” Hordyski remarked.

With a board responsible for overseeing the education of approximately 3,200 students across seven schools, Stubbs and Hordyski’s leadership is vital for the ongoing success of the division. The seven-member board is poised to embark on a review of its committees and the allocation of trustee responsibilities to ensure effective governance.

During the meeting, nominations were called and both leaders were unanimously re-elected, concluding with a brief acknowledgment of their roles from each. Their commitment to the board and the community reflects a dedication to fostering a positive educational environment.

As the Prince Albert Catholic School Division looks to the future, all eyes are on Stubbs and Hordyski to navigate the challenges ahead and to implement initiatives that directly impact students and families in the community.
