Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Thanks Fans After Historic Blue Jays Season
UPDATE: Superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Blue Jays fans following a thrilling yet bittersweet 2025 season that concluded with a World Series near miss. In a powerful Instagram post, Guerrero shared his emotions after a rollercoaster year, stating, “A year I will frame forever.”
The 26-year-old athlete’s message resonates deeply as it follows a season filled with significant achievements and personal milestones. Guerrero’s journey began with uncertainty over his contract, which could have seen him enter free agency. Instead, he secured a record-breaking 14-year, US$500 million extension—the largest in Canadian sports history—solidifying his future with the Jays.
Guerrero’s performance was nothing short of spectacular during the postseason. He shattered franchise playoff records, helping the Jays reach the World Series, only to fall short against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a dramatic seven-game series. “I knew you would be special when I knew I would be a Blue Jay forever,” he reflected, highlighting the collective effort of his family, teammates, and the organization.
His postseason was marked by exceptional statistics, including being named ALCS MVP after an electrifying seven-game victory over the Mariners, where he hit a staggering .397 across 18 games. Guerrero’s eight home runs during the playoffs set a new franchise record, showcasing his prowess at crucial moments.
General Manager Ross Atkins praised Guerrero, stating, “It was incredible to watch the athleticism on every aspect of the game. He was an absolute force offensively and a game changer as a defender.” His impact on the team and the sport is undeniable.
Guerrero also celebrated his roots upon returning to the Dominican Republic, where he was honored by fans from his hometown of Don Gregorio. Riding atop a black Cadillac Escalade, he acknowledged the support that has fueled his career and solidified his commitment to remaining a Blue Jay for life.
The 2025 season has been transformative for Guerrero, not only securing his legacy in Toronto but also demonstrating his passion for the game and the fanbase. As the Blue Jays look to build on this momentum, all eyes will be on Guerrero as he prepares for the upcoming season, which promises more thrilling moments ahead.
Fans are eager to see how Guerrero will continue to transform the franchise and solidify his place in baseball history. With the new contract extending through 2039, the future looks bright for both Guerrero and the Toronto Blue Jays.
