Westbank First Nation Re-elects Chief Louie and Councilors

UPDATE: In a decisive election held on September 18, 2023, Chief Robert Louie has been re-elected to lead the Westbank First Nation. Joining him are returning councillors Jordan Coble, Sara Tronson, and Andrea Alexander, along with newcomer Mike DeGuevara, who brings 14 years of council experience.

The newly elected leaders will be sworn in on September 23, 2023, to serve a three-year term. Chief Louie expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am honoured to continue serving as Chief of Westbank First Nation and grateful for the confidence our community has placed in me.”

With an impressive 29 years of service on Council, including 27 years as Chief, Louie emphasized the importance of collaboration: “This is an experienced and capable Council, and together we will work with determination to advance WFN’s priorities, support the wellbeing of our people, and create opportunities that benefit the entire community. I am energized by this mandate and eager to get to work.”

The election results reflect a strong commitment from the community, showcasing a desire for stability and experienced leadership. The re-elected council members are expected to address pressing issues and foster growth and development within the Westbank First Nation.
