Woodstock North Volleyball Remains Undefeated, Moves to 10-0 in KRC

BREAKING: Woodstock North’s girls volleyball team achieved a remarkable milestone, defeating Johnsburg with scores of 25-17 and 25-23 to improve their record to 10-0 in the Kishwaukee River Conference (KRC) on Monday. The Thunder (15-5 overall) showcased their dominance with standout performances from key players, making this victory one to remember.
Gabby Schefke led the charge with an impressive 16 assists, alongside four kills and two blocks. Maddie Sofie contributed significantly with five digs and two aces, while Jenna Johnson added seven kills. Meanwhile, Richmond-Burton also clinched a victory over Woodstock, winning 25-15 and 25-17. In boys soccer, Richmond-Burton defeated Woodstock 2-1 at Woodstock, with Trey Maziarz and Johann Boentges scoring for the Rockets (13-6-1). This victory secured them third place in the KRC Tournament, adding to the excitement of the day.
Switching to girls flag football, McHenry dominated Grayslake North with a score of 52-6, as Brooklyn Anderson threw five touchdown passes. This playoff-opening win propels McHenry (12-4) into the next round, showcasing their offensive prowess and solidifying their position as a formidable contender in the postseason.
Dundee-Crown edged out Belvidere North 12-7 in a thrilling regional opener, while Round Lake eliminated Harvard 36-0, ending their season. Hampshire also advanced with a narrow 13-6 victory over Prairie Ridge, showing the intensity of playoff competition.
