Denzel Perryman Arrested on Weapons Charges, Faces Court Hearing
Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman was arrested on weapons charges following a traffic stop for vehicle code violations. The incident occurred on the evening of March 5, 2024, when deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department discovered five firearms, including two classified as assault weapons, in Perryman’s vehicle.
During the stop, Perryman, 32, reportedly complied with the deputies’ requests. Following the discovery of the firearms, he was booked on felony charges and is currently being held without bond at the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station. Perryman’s agent, Ron Butler, confirmed that his client remains in custody and has not been released.
Perryman is scheduled to appear at Inglewood Court for a hearing on Tuesday. The Los Angeles Chargers acknowledged the situation in a statement, saying, “We are aware of a matter involving Denzel and are gathering information.”
The linebacker is an 11-year veteran of the NFL, having previously played for the Houston Texans and the Las Vegas Raiders. His arrest raises significant concerns given his prominent role in professional football, and the legal proceedings ahead will likely be closely monitored by fans and analysts alike.
As the case unfolds, the Chargers organization will be looking into the implications of Perryman’s actions, both for the player and the team. Further details regarding the court appearance and any subsequent actions will emerge following the hearing.
