Lil Nas X Faces Four Felony Charges Following Police Incident

Lil Nas X, the artist also known as Montero Lamar Hill, has been charged with four felonies following an incident involving Los Angeles police. The charges stem from an altercation that occurred when officers confronted him for walking naked on Ventura Boulevard early on the morning of March 11, 2024. According to the District Attorney’s Office, he faces three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one felony charge of resisting an executive officer.
Initially, the 26-year-old musician was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor obstruction after the police encounter. He is scheduled for arraignment later today. As of now, representatives for Lil Nas X have not responded to requests for comment regarding the situation.
Police reports indicate that officers found Lil Nas X walking naked on the busy street shortly before 6 a.m. local time. Upon being confronted, he allegedly charged at the officers, which led to his arrest. Due to concerns of a possible overdose, he was taken to a hospital for evaluation before being transferred to jail, where he has remained since the incident.

Lil Nas X, known for his unique style and genre-blending music, gained widespread fame with his viral hit “Old Town Road,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a record-breaking 19 weeks in 2018. His debut studio album, Montero, released in 2021, reached No. 2 on the Billboard album chart and earned a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year.
