Police Release Image of Suspect in Oshawa Assault Case

An image of a suspect involved in an assault that occurred two months ago in Oshawa has been released by the Durham Regional Police. The incident took place on July 25, 2023, in the vicinity of Wilson Road North and Taunton Road East. Officers responded to the call regarding the assault and found the victim with minor injuries.

According to Const. Brittany Kennedy of the Durham Regional Police, the victim reported that he had been driving when he exchanged words with another driver, whom he suspected was impaired. Following this confrontation, the other driver allegedly followed the victim into a nearby parking lot, where the situation escalated.

Upon exiting his vehicle, the victim claimed he was assaulted by the other driver. After the attack, the assailant fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. Investigators have since provided a description of the suspect, identified as a white male approximately 20 years old and around six feet tall. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a T-shirt, shorts, and work boots.

The suspect was driving a black Ford Escape with an unknown license plate. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact the Durham Regional Police at 1-888-579-1520, extension 2938, or to reach out to Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The investigation continues as police seek to gather more details and identify the individual responsible for this assault.
