Woman Dies Following Shooting in Brampton; Four Sought in Carjacking
A woman has succumbed to her injuries after a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Brampton. According to Peel Regional Police, they received an emergency call reporting the shooting shortly before 14:00 in the vicinity of Airport Rd. and Queen St. E.. Despite immediate treatment by paramedics at the scene, the victim was pronounced dead due to her injuries.
As of now, authorities have not released any information regarding a potential suspect. The investigation remains ongoing, with police urging anyone with relevant details to come forward.
Attempted Carjacking Incident in Pickering
In a separate incident, Durham Regional Police are investigating an attempted carjacking that took place over the weekend in Pickering. Officers responded to a distress call last Saturday at approximately 23:10 in the area of Glenanna and Kingston Rds.
According to police reports, a pizza delivery driver was targeted while making a delivery. An unknown male approached the victim, instructing him to deliver the order to a different location where payment would be made. Subsequently, the suspect, along with three others, allegedly assaulted the delivery driver, taking his debit machine and car keys.
The group attempted to steal the victim’s vehicle but fled the scene on foot when nearby residents responded to the disturbance. Fortunately, the delivery driver was not injured during the incident.
Authorities describe the four suspects as males aged between 18 to 25 years, all wearing dark clothing at the time of the attempted carjacking.
